  • Marílio Cardoso has a BSc (5 years degree) in Electrical Engineering – Power Systems, School of Engineering (ISEP) of P.Porto and he is finishing a PhD in Information Technology Research Research, at University of Santiago de Compostela.
  • He is a lecturer at ISEP – P. Porto on the department of Computer Engineering.
  • He has been instructor in several courses on energy efficiency and use of energy.
  • In 2014 he was instructor in the summer course “Engineering for Sustainable Development”.
  • He has been member of Multimedia Lab of DEI.
  • Since 2008 he is member of ISEP Sustainable Commission.

Tânia Rocha

  • Tânia Rocha, PhD in Informatics and M.Sc. in Communication and Multimedia.
  • She is Assistant Professor at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) and Senior Researcher at INESC TEC-Associated Laboratory.
  • His main research interests are in the field of Human-Computer Interaction, with an emphasis on Multimedia, Digital Accessibility and Usability.
  • She won 3 national and 1 international artistic and scientific awards. In addition, she has produced more than 50 academic papers, including book chapters, articles and communications in annals, and has supervised several undergraduate projects (10 course conclusion projects) and postgraduate (5 doctoral and 8 masters) projects .
  • She is one of the co-founders of L.AV.A. – Audiovisuals and Accessibility Laboratory.

José Marinho

Nuno Coelho

  • Nuno Mateus-Coelho is Professor and author of the book Information Security, Systems Intrusion, Cloud Security, Graphic Computing and Data Privacy at the Polytechnic Institute of Management and Technology (ISLA) and at the Polytechnic Institute of Cavadoand Ave (IPCA), Portugal .
  • He holds a BEng. in Information Systems and Multimedia Engineering, MEng. PhD in Computer Science Engineering at Polytechnic of Porto – School of Engineering (ISEP) in the area and discipline of cloud security and secure operating systems, and a PhD.
  • PhD in Computer Science from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) in the area and discipline of information security and secure operating systems.
  • He is a European Commission accredited specialist in R&I projects in the Horizon 2020, COSME and CEF programs in the area of ​​information technologies. He is a TED and KeyNoteSpeaker; GDPR & DPO Expert in several Portuguese companies, ISO 27K Expert, COBIT & ITIL Expert; Certified cybersecurity expert, CEO and founder of NRMC.PT. and Manager of Altran 5GLAB.

Paulo Sérgio dos Santos Matos

Bio:

  • Paulo Matos has a postgraduate studies in Industrial Computing from FEUP, and a PhD in Computer Science from UTAD.
  • He is a lecturer at ISEP – P. Porto on the Computer Science Department, lecturing several Course Units in the areas of graphical systems, interaction, computer aided engineering and computer science, in the courses of computer engineering and systems engineering.
  • He will be the next director of Multimedia Lab from DEI-ISEP.

Nuno Filipe Teixeira Malheiro

Bio:

  • Nuno Malheiro de Castro has a PhD on Electronics and Computer Engineering From UTAD.
  • He is a lecturer at ISEP – P. Porto on the department of Computer Engeneering and responsable from Course Units related with Advanced Programming techniques in the Master Degree on Informatic engineering.

Francisco Restivo

Bio:

  • Francisco J. Restivo (IEEE Member’71, Life Member’2013) is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Catholic University of Portugal since 2010 and a researcher at LIACC – Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Informatics at the University of Porto.
  • His research interests include Digital Signal Processing, Systems, Systems of Systems, Complexity, and Social and Economic Networks. He is also Scientific Director and member of the Board of Directors of IDIT-Institute for Technological Development and Innovation of Santa Maria da Feira, Portugal, since 1999.
  • Previously, he was Associate Professor in the Department of Informatics Engineering of the Superior School of Engineering of the University of Porto since 1988. Dr. Restivo has a degree in D.Phil.

João Azevedo

Bio:

  • João Azevedo holds a degree in Multimedia Engineering and obtained the title of specialist in the audiovisual and media production area in 2016. He began his professional career in 1998 as a web programmer and later as a multimedia producer. Its route highlights the development of the Site of the Hospital Santa Maria do Porto, the platform “Somos Top” of Porto Editora and a Virtual Reality application that obtained the 2nd place in the Contest “Periodic Table: beyond 150 years”. He was Director of the Multimedia Department of the School of Media Arts and Design. He is currently Vice-President of the same institution and is a researcher at uniMAD. His research focuses on Augmented and Virtual Reality.

Diogo Silva

Bio:

  • Diogo da Silva has a Master’s Degree in Basic Education (K6), both in social studies and in science.
  • With a solid background in computing and multimedia, he has focused his efforts on the application of technology in education, having participated and developed several projects that aim to enrich children’s lives through the conscientious use of technology.
  • He holds the position of Pedagogical Director of Visionarium – The STEAM Science Center, which will reopen its doors in 2021 and coordinates the STEAM department at EscolaGlobal, where he developed a curriculum focused on cooperative work and the development of soft skills.
  • More recently, he participated in European Schoolnet’s Skills for Industry: Robotics in Schools project and is participating in a European collaboration project aimed at using virtual reality as a socialization and education tool.

  • Paula Camarinha holds a Ph.D. in Informatics (2015).
  • She is Senior Lecturer in the area of Information Technology at ISCAP/P.PORTO
  • Developed business activity for 12 years as head of Computer Center and Senior Analyst.
  • She was an invited researcher at the UP to University Project – UP2U.
  • Member of the scientific committee for national and international conferences and initiatives, as well as international journals.
  • Collaborates in the organization of several international scientific events
  • Collaborates as a peer reviewer in scientific journals and international conferences.

Sílvia Lima Gonçalves Araújo

Bio:

  • Sílvia Araújo concluded her PhD in Language Sciences / Romance Linguistics in 2008 at the University of Minho / Université Paris 7 – Denis Diderot.
  • She is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Romance Studies of the University of Minho.
  • Her main research interests are corpus linguistics, technologies applied to languages and digital humanities. Related to these areas, she has coordinated projects funded by FCT (Perfide, PortLinguE) and the Support Program for Innovation and Development of Teaching and Learning, IDEA-UMinho (Active and Collaborative Learning Scenarios with Digital Tools).
  • Since 2008, she has conducted accredited training sessions on the pedagogical integration of technologies at different levels of education (basic, secondary and higher education).
  • She is a member of the Steering Committee of the Master’s Degree in Translation and Multilingual Communication, Director of the Master’s Degree in Digital Humanities, as well as the Coordinator of the Digital Humanities Research Group of the Center for Humanistic Studies of the University of Minho.
  • Furthermore, she coordinates the techLING annual international conference, devoted to the application of technology to languages and linguistics, which will reach its fifth edition in 2020.

Tamara Aller Carreira

  • Tamara Aller Carrera is an assistant professor at the Escola Superior de Educação of Bragança and the Polytechnic Institute of Maia.
  • Degree in Foreign Languages ​​English / Spanish.
  • Master in Spanish as a Second Language and Foreign Language from the University of Minho – Braga.
  • PhD in Language Sciences from the Faculty of Arts, University of Porto, in the area of ​​specialization in Didactics of Foreign Languages.
  • Responsible for the production and coordination of the continuous training course “Teacher of digital competence: innovation in foreign language teaching” at FLUP, qualified by the distinction of
    recognition, within the scope of the 2018 Educational InnovationAward.
  • Award given by Miríadax-Telefónica Educação Digital, recognized the MOOC as an initiative that stood out for its work to disseminate open knowledge in the Ibero-American Space, and for its positive impact on the digital transformation at university level in Portugal.
  • His research career has focused mainly on pedagogical innovation through the creation of digital teaching materials and the application of ICT tools in pedagogical practice, as well as on the development of teachers’ digital competence.
  • She also cooperated in the “Mu.SA: Museum Sector Alliance” project, funded by the European Erasmus + / Sector Competence Alliances program. Paulo Proença

  • Paulo Proença is a professor in Computer Engineering Department (DEI) School of Engineering of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (ISEP-IPP). 
  • He completed the academic part of the Doctoral Program in Informatics Engineering (PRODEI) at Faculdade de Engenharia do Porto (FEUP) and his research work is in web ontologies.
  • He holds a MSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering at FEUP. 
  • The research project consisted of developing a multimedia application for virtual visits to museums. At DEI, he teaches courses in the areas of computer applications architecture.

  • Teresa Guarda obtained her PhD in Information Systems and Technologies in 2015 from the University of Minho.
  • She is a researcher at the ALGORITMI Research Center at the University of Minho, Portugal, (Intelligent Data Systems (IDS) Research Team, R&D Group in Information Systems and Technologies (IST)).
  • She is a member and responsible for Conferences and International Relations of the interdisciplinary research group BITrum, and a member and researcher at GSIS The Institute for a Global Sustainable Society.

Jorge Mendonça

  • Jorge Mendonça is Adjunct Professor at the Instituto Superior de Engenharia of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto.

  • Paula Alves de Quadros Flores holds a Ph.D. in Educational Sciences in Educational Technology at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, a Master in Educational Management and Planning from Portucalense University and a BA in Basic Education.
  • She is an assistant professor at the Polytechnic of Porto, School of Education, being Coordinator of the Technical Course Scientific Unit of Supervised Pedagogical Practice and responsible for the curricular unit Initiation to Pedagogical Practice III (Licentiate in Basic Education).

Joaquim Lopes

  • Joaquim Lopes is Master in Eng. Informatics, Graphics and Multimedia Systems, from ISEP – IPP, he also has a degree in Informatics – Educational Branch and a Bachelor’s degree in Management Informatics from ISPGay.
  • Enjoys programming in languages such as C++, Visual Basic, Python, PHP, SQL, JScript.
  • He is a web developer and has in-depth knowledge of CMS (Content Management System) content management systems, exploring its potential in the field of web development applied to teaching.

Vitor Marmelo

  • Vítor Marmelo has a Master’s Degree in Multimedia Technology by FEUP.
  • Pedagogical degree by the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of University of Porto;
    Degree in Fine Arts/Painting by the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto;
  • Attended the Multimedia Art Department at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris, under the Erasmus program in 1997.
  • He is a professor at ESE-P. Porto in the Technical-Scientific Unit of Visual Arts, since 2018/2019;
  • Teatched at the Technological School of the Polytechnic Institute of Cavado e Ave (IPCA), in the Department of Design, in the academic years of 2006/2007 and 2007/2008.

Main interests: Augmented Reality, Virtual  Reality, Multimedia, Comunication Design, Educational Technology, Innovative Teaching.

Helder Pinto

Bio:

  • Helder Pinto holds a PhD in Information Sciences from UFP, an Executive MBA at IoBM and a postgraduate degree in Computer Engineering from ISEP;
  • Helder has been a lecturer in Computer Engineering at ISEP and UFP. He previously worked as a teacher and pedagogical coordinator at ISTEC;
  • Helder is also currently a Project Manager and Training & Development Specialist at CESAE Digital, where he has been a trainer and pedagogical coordinator in the areas of Computer Science and Digital Art at professional training centers like CESAE, ATEC, and IEFP since 2008;
  • Additionally, he is a Microsoft Master Trainer for Portugal.
