Director António Vieira Castro

Bio:
- António Vieira de Castro has a Master’s Degree in Multimedia Technology and is doing his PhD here in representation of both by FEUP.
- He is a professor at ISEP-P. Porto in the Computer Engineering department and is responsible for the Curricular Units related to Interfaces and Design and Image, Audio and Video of the Masters in Computer Engineering.
- From 2014 to 2021, he was Director of the DEI Multimedia Laboratory.
- From 2006 to 2021, he was coordinator of the Multimedia and Medicine research area of the GILT group (Games, Interaction and Learning Technologies).
- He has supervised more than 50 master’s theses and 3 completed doctoral theses and several projects.
- He was the principal local investigator of an H2020 project and FCT projects and participated in many
others in recent years. - He is a member of the E-IPP (Pedagogical Innovation Unit of P. Porto) and a member of the CCRAV (Virtual and Augmented Reality Skills Center) of P. Porto.
Main interests: Interactive Systems, Multimedia, Educational Technology, Innovative Teaching, Voice Recognition, Virtual Computer Vision and Augmented Reality, IOT, Home Automation, among others.
